CCSD Celebrates its 2025-26 REACH Georgia Scholars

The Cherokee County School District is celebrating its new class of REACH Georgia Scholars!  

REACH Georgia is a statewide mentorship and college scholarship program for middle and high school students.  This is CCSD’s fourth year of participation with support from the Cherokee County Educational Foundation; five eighth-graders have been selected for this year’s class.

Booth MS, Teagan Banks of Freedom MS, and Luke Clark of Mill Creek MS!  Thank you to CCEF for its sponsorship, and thank you to our School Board for its laser focus on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!

The school district celebrated the scholars’ achievement with their families at a signing day-style reception this evening, sponsored by CCEF, followed by recognition by the School Board and Superintendent of Schools at the School Board meeting.

As part of Georgia’s Complete College initiative, REACH seeks to identify rising eighth-grade students who display academic promise and provide them with the academic, social and financial support they will need to graduate from high school, attend and complete college.  

REACH Scholars who complete program requirements receive as much as $10,000 in scholarship dollars at a HOPE eligible Georgia university or technical college.  The program requires participating students meet specific expectations for academic achievement, attendance, behavior and participation in academic coaching and mentorship meetings.
