CCSD Talent Takes the Stage at Carnegie Hall

Cherokee County School District talent took the stage at Carnegie Hall this month!

Creekview High School teacher Scott Martin, the school’s choral director, made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut for performances by the Cherokee Chorale community chorus.  Creekview High School chorus students joined the Chorale for the performance of Elaine Hagenberg’s “Illuminare,” which included alumnae from all six CCSD high schools, and Creekland Middle School teacher Laura B. Martin, the school’s choral director and wife of Mr. Martin.  The performance was accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble.  

In addition to teaching at Creekview, Mr. Martin is the artistic director and principal conductor of the Cherokee Chorale.  The Chorale is a CCSD Partner and provides financial support to the district’s middle school and high school choral programs.  A CCSD middle school or high school choir also serves as a guest choir on each of the Chorale concerts every season.  We're on a mission to be the highest performing school district in Georgia and our School Board's valued partnerships with community organizations and businesses elevate our excellence!
