Celebrating Our 2024 Teachers of the Year: Cherokee High School!

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating a school 2024 Teacher of the Year each day!  English language arts teacher Hillary Baxter, an 18-year educator, is the Teacher of the Year for Cherokee High School!

“Ms. Baxter works in so many ways to serve the students of Cherokee, and she does so in a selfless manner that serves as an example for students and staff alike,” Principal Andy Hall said.  “Ms. Baxter finds ways to motivate, to relate to and to instruct her students as they finish up high school and look toward their next steps.  What’s great about Ms. Baxter is that she works with all types of students, from her high-achieving, highly involved students who she works with as a Student Government Association sponsor to her students who are trying to get back on track to graduate in her graduation lab class.  They all get her attention and her best work, and this makes her a fantastic educator at Cherokee High School – one who makes the most of every opportunity to support students both in and out of the classroom.”
